[August 27th, 2022] When we were still sitting in the university lecture hall, we thought that the construction profession was merely a job associated with drawings, concrete, reinforcement… But if you are attached to the profession, you will see that this job really has a greater meaning than that. Construction profession as people say – “Come when green grass is growing, go when appearing red tile” – the new land when we are arriving is still primitive, full of pebbles and rocks but we leave when the land was lit up the lights.
Construction profession is associated with sunshine, wind, road dust, but there is no shortage of joys. Construction engineers on site always carry differences – in terms of dusty appearance, liberal personality – it is difficult to mix with other professions. These differences come from the young at the construction site, the long nights with the drawings. In general, the construction profession can be divided into three main groups of jobs: construction, design and project management.
Construction Engineer, where the construction site is home
Construction engineer is probably the job position that gives us the clearest view of the personality of construction people. For the engineer, the construction site is the home, the machines are brothers and the colleagues are family and relatives. Each project represents is a part of youth, part of the passion and sometimes they had to dedicated their blood and tears to their profession.
Design Engineers - Silent Soldiers
If the work of a construction engineer is associated with construction sites and machines, the work of a design engineer is associated with computers. For design engineers, their companion is a stack of drawings, an inventory of documents. The job of the design engineer is to use the data and comply with the requirements and regulations to come up with the most suitable design solution.
Designers do not have to live far from their families like construction engineers, but their work does not reduce the pressure. The pressure of design engineers is precision, meticulousness. Only "one inch wrong" in the design will actually "go a mile", so designers always have to put the highest accuracy in their work.
Project Management Engineer, know-it-all
The main job of a project management engineer is to manage costs, progress, quality of works, management of occupational safety, risks and many other aspects to ensure the work is completed according to the requirements. A project manager must be a person with good synthesis ability, grasping all aspects related to construction works, as well as the ability to coordinate work. The more society develops, the larger and more complex the construction works, the role of project management engineers is increasingly important.
